Oyster TBC Under Sink Water Filter

Our Oyster TBC is a high performance under sink water filter system that improves the taste and odour or your water and removes chlorine, sediments, bacteria and chemicals.

This filter removes bacteria including Campylobacter, E.Coli, Cryptosporidium and other cysts, for e.g. Giardia. In addition; Chloramines, Trihalomethanes and PAHs, pharmaceutical residues, endocrine disruptors, hormones are also removed.

Both cartridges remove chemicals.

You can mount this under sink water filter system either under your sink or on the bench top.

The housing dimensions are 34H x 26W x 13D (volume occupied in cm).

Your kit will include:

  • 2 x white filter housings.
  • 1 x dual white housing bracket.
  • 1 x 5 micron activated carbon block cartridge (F109009) for chlorine, taste, odour and sediment.
  • 1 x 0.5 micron activated carbon block cartridge (MAXVOC-975)*
  • A choice of drinking water filter taps or you can choose the 'no tap' option. You would choose the 'no tap' option if you already have a tap or wish to buy a 3 way tap
  • Either a self-piercing saddle valve or a 15mm compression valve.
  • Red and blue tubing (2 metres of each).
  • 1 x housing spanner.
  • DIY instructions - no need for a plumber.

Cartridge details:

  • Watts F109009 top of the line coconut shell carbon block filter cartridge for chlorine, taste and odour and sediment reduction in water.
  • 2.5 x 10".
  • 5 micron - greater than 90% chlorine reduction.
  • Chlorine reduction 10,000 gallons @ 1 gpm or 12 months; whichever comes first.
  • Thick wall carbon construction for superior performance.
  • Outperforms granulated activated carbon (GAC) cartridges as it has superior chlorine reduction, lower pressure drop and will not channel.
  • Media wrap between centre tube and carbon block to reduce carbon fibres.
  • Maximum operating pressure - 125psi.
  • Operating temperature - 50°F to 125°F / 10°C to 52°C.
  • Tested and certified NSF/ANSI standard 42 for materials only.
  • FDA grade components and materials.
  • Tested and verified by independent laboratory testing.

C-Max MAXVOC-975 (bacteria and chemicals)*

  • Solid block activated carbon for long life.
  • Reduction of select volatile organic compoundS (VOC'S) through 1,200 gallons.
  • Effective chlorine and smell reduction through 20,000 gallons at 1 GPM flow rate.
  • 0.5 micron rating.
  • Reduces fine sediment and rust particles.
  • Temperature range 40-165°F (4.4-73.8°C)
  • Fits standard 10'' filter housing.
  • Tested and certified by NSF International under NSF/ANSI standard 42 for material requirements only.

*On some occasions we may need to substitute the MAXVOC-975 with the MAXPB-975. Cartridge details for the MAXPB-975 are:

  • Lead and Cyst reduction.
  • Solid block activated carbon for long life. 
  • Effective chlorine, taste and odour reduction through 20,000 gallons at 1 GPM flow rate.
  • Reduces lead, VOC's, Giardia, Entamoeba, Toxoplasma and Cryptosporidium Cysts.
  • Lead reduction through 2,400 gallons.
  • Reduces fine sediment 0.5 micron nominal filtration.
  • Temperature range: 40-165° (4.4-73.8°C).

What order do the cartridges go in?

In most circumstances the lowest micron rated cartridge goes last in the sequence (on the water out / blue tubing side). For the Oyster TBC under sink water filter the 5 micron carbon block cartridge goes first in the sequence, followed by the 0.5 micron C-MAX-MAXVOC-975 (or MAXPB-975).
